Bio:
Wali is currently the Diversity and Wellbeing Manager at the Forestry Commission.
He has over 20 years of experience working in various roles within Further and Higher Education, Local Government, the Community and Voluntary Sector and the Civil Service.
Wali has experience of developing EDI strategies and training programmes and setting up corporate EDI steering groups, staff networks and reverse mentoring programmes to increase representation and drive employee engagement.
Wali completed the Stepping Up Diversity Leadership programme and received its Rising Star Award in 2023. He was recognised in the Equality X Top 50 most influential Muslims in Europe list 2023 and helped the Forestry Commission gain the Includability Inclusive Employer Award 2023.
