Bio:

Em is an EDI leader focused on culture transformation. Her experience spans LGBTQ+ inclusion, race equity, and intersectionality. She draws on a background of 8 years as a former police officer with the Metropolitan Police Service in London and now 8+ years working in the EDI space. Em’s dedication to fairness and justice continues through her EDI work, from strategy development to large-scale EDI programmes. She brings experience from both consultancy and in-house roles, having worked with organisations such as Sainsbury’s, the NHS, and Innovate UK Business Connect, where she served as Interim Head of D&I. As a former Board Trustee at Mosaic LGBT+ Young Persons’ Trust, she is deeply passionate about supporting young people thrive and now serves on R;pple Suicide Prevention Charity’s advisory board. Em is also a mentor with a particular focus on supporting the career development of young people from marginalised backgrounds, helping them navigate the early stages of their careers. She is featured in “My Sh*t Therapist & other mental health stories” and is a certified Diversity-to-Belonging Facilitator.

Em has joined Charlotte Sweeney as a guest on the Inclusive Disruption podcast where she talked about the crucial aspects of driving change and the power of self-discovery for EDI professionals. She joined Andrea Derbyshire on her The Inclusive Edge podcast where they discussed turning good intentions into active allyship and in 2023, she spoke about LGBTQ+ inclusion and Race from a UK lens at The Better Together Conference in Adelaide, Australia – where she was invited to join the international panel.
