Bio:
Richard is responsible for BAE Systems UK Education & Skills strategy and for the pipeline of future talent through its education outreach activities with schools and the design and development of apprenticeship programmes. BAE Systems is one of the largest employers of apprentices and has c2000 apprentices. It is an Ofsted Grade 1 Apprenticeship Provider and won in 2018 the Macro Apprentice Employer of the Year Award at the National Apprenticeship Awards. He has chaired the cross sector Aerospace and Airworthiness Trailblazer group, producing Apprenticeship, Degree and Masters Apprenticeships.
Before joining BAE Systems in 2004, Richard was Head of Education at BT in its Corporate Responsibility team and ran its Millennium education programme. He was also Head of Voluntary Sector Partnerships and held other HR roles in BT.
