Bio:
Nerida started her career as an apprentice in the HR team of the University of Newcastle in New South Wales, Australia. In 2008, she moved to the UK where she joined Goldsmiths College and restarted her career, adapting to the UK recruitment market.
From there, Nerida has grown her experience within recruitment in a vast array of industries including, non-profit, food and beverage and now construction as Kier’s head of employer brand and strategic resourcing. Throughout her career she has led the way in reducing agency spend, attracting diverse talent and finding innovative ways to adapt to different social and economic challenges such as the 2008 recession and the coronavirus pandemic.
At Kier, Nerida plays a key role in attracting diverse talent into the construction industry, and making sure that candidates know what a fantastic industry it is to work in.
Nerida is passionate about inspiring the next generation of employees and showing them that construction is not just hi-vis and hard hats, a passion that has been inspired by watching her young children grow and navigate the world, showing them how to find a career that would truly mean something to them.
