Bio:
Alison is the co-head of CMS’ UK Employment team, with 20 years of experience working with employer clients across a number of sectors. As a board member of CMS’ international employment group, Alison often works on international mandates, and in addressing cross border issues – including in assessing diversity programmes across multiple jurisdictions.
With a strong interest in assisting clients through business change, Alison regularly advises on collective level industrial/employee relations matters, from strategic input through to implementation of projects and negotiations.
Alison is frequently called on to support sensitive issues at boardroom level, and supports clients in addressing changing employment law requirements and practice (recent examples including covid response/hybrid working, and pay gap reporting). On a day-to-day basis she advises clients on their full range of employment needs, from contractual documentation, through to advising on individual case management. Alison regularly advises on the defence of employment litigation, alongside alternative resolutions via mediation (both judicial and private).
Passionate about diversity, both generally and in the legal sector specifically, Alison is a regular speaker on topics including pay transparency, unconscious bias, and harassment in employment.
Alison is named as a leading individual by Legal 500, and is band one ranked in Chambers and Partners, where it has been noted that she is “always providing solutions tailored to the client’s desired outcome”.
