Alex is the CMI VP, Global Head of PDC’s, Predictive Analytics, Shopper & CMI Hive at Unilever. He is also the Executive Sponsor of proUd, Unilever’s LGBTQI+ Community.
‘Equality isn’t Equal, Equity is’; This is the cornerstone of Unilever’s ED&I Strategy. While Unilever promotes and celebrates equality for all, it also acknowledges it cannot do so without equity. Alex passionately believes high performing teams need to be inclusive, operating in a psychologically safe environment. Where people respect others’ beliefs, values, faith, sexual orientation – in fact, all aspects of a person.
Since taking on the role of Executive Sponsor, Unilever has made great progress. In 2019, they were bottom quartile in Workplace Pride’s external benchmark, moving to one of the top in 2022. Queer’iosity a Degreed Pathway was created, educating over 2,000 employees. In 2022 the LGBTQI+ playbook in partnership with Gay Times was launched to educate, inspire, and guide Unilever’s marketeers to portray the community in an #unstereotype way.
