SLC have an exciting opportunity within our People Directorate for a Diversity and Inclusion Advisor to support our EDI approach, policy, interventions and procedures aligned to our EDI and People Strategy.  The successful candidate will develop and maintain policy, guidance and resources for managers and colleagues at all levels across all protected characteristics to enable them to support colleagues effectively and to promote best practice.  In addition, the Diversity and Inclusion Advisor will design, develop and deliver a Toolkit for People Team colleagues and managers to embed an understanding of the requirement to complete Equality Impact Assessments for all changes with a people related impact.

SLC offer a Blend working model which will typically be 2 days in the office and 3 days from home.

What you bring:

  • Current working knowledge of employment law and People/HR management underpinned by legislative requirements a strong passion for Equality, Diversity and Inclusion.
  • Previous experience of applying Equality legislation in a customer orientated workplace environment and providing People/HR training and coaching to line managers.
  • The ability to demonstrate cultural awareness with experience of engaging with diverse communities and/or individuals.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills, with the ability to communicate sensitive issues effectively, tactfully and with empathy.
  • The ability to collate, interpret and analyse data, using a variety of methods to effectively engage and influence internal and external stakeholders.
