More about our speakers
Catherine Garrod, former Head of Inclusion, Sky and Founder, Compelling Culture
Before setting up Compelling Culture, Catherine’s career spanned Media & Telecoms, Behavioural Healthcare, Utility, FMCG and Childcare. The theme was creating a workplace where people were proud of something they believed in and inspired to evolve the culture. Her superpower is absorbing an organisation’s ambition, defining the strategy and providing a compelling plan everyone can get behind. Catherine left Sky in 2020 having led them to be the most inclusive employer in the UK within two years of launching a vision. She placed a huge focus on what it felt like to work in every team and provided leaders with tools to make local changes. 80% of teams increased their diversity and 9,000 people were participating in volunteer communities to connect, inspire and influence how things were done both on screen and behind the scenes. Having collaborated with Executive teams, every business area and HR, Catherine understands the complexity in creating sustainable change. She knows how organisations operate and learnt tonnes about what works (and what doesn’t). Catherine is known for captivating the audience, inspiring change and sharing simple solutions everyone can implement.
