Steps to creating faith-friendly workplaces

October 7 | 11:05 am-11:55 am

Join this free 50 minute live d&i Leaders online conversation, with audience Q&A.

Discussion points:

Despite decades of progress across other areas of equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI), religion continues to be the most overlooked and uncomfortable dimension of workplace inclusion.

With over 84% of the global population identifying with a religion or belief system, faith is a deeply ingrained aspect of human identity. However, in many organisations, it is seen as too complex, too political or too sensitive to engage with and is therefore left off the agenda entirely. This systemic silence has real commercial consequences, making the provision of a dedicated, psychologically safe environment for colleagues of faith a critical talent retention issue.

This interactive session will aim to:

  • Equip HR, People and EDI leaders to identify critical gaps in the employee lifecycle and embed belief inclusion into corporate frameworks
  • Review practical interventions, such as revitalising wellbeing frameworks and optimising Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs) that are supportive and reflective of people with religion
  • Gain practical insights on allyship behaviours, tackling policy gaps, and building faith literacy into wider L&D offerings and inclusive leadership practices
  • Understand how to set up psychologically safe spaces to validate the emotional toll on staff and equip them with practical wellbeing tools

More about our speakers

Sufia Hussain, Founder & CEO, RB+ (Religion and Belief Plus)
Sufia is founder and CEO of RB+ (Religion and Belief Plus), a new consultancy helping leaders to improve faith literacy in the workplace. Sufia has over two decades of experience as a senior equality, diversity and inclusion practitioner in large, international organisations. In Global and Regional director roles, she designed and delivered impactful programmes improving access and opportunity for underrepresented and marginalised communities. In 2025, Sufia started RB+ to tackle a glaring gap in EDI: the failure to address religion and belief, a protected characteristic that is often overlooked. She is particularly focussed on improving Muslim inclusion across all industries.
