Sarah Jackson OBE, Visiting Professor, Cranfield University School of Management
For over 25 years Sarah has shaped family-friendly policy, legislation and public attitudes. As CEO of the work-life charity Working Families until September 2018, Sarah built up an unparalleled track-record of highly impactful practical work, research and thought leadership on issues around gender discrimination at work, family friendly and flexible working best practice, and of policy development. She established the agenda-setting Modern Families Index with Bright Horizons. Sarah has enabled many organisations truly to engage and support all their staff, including those disadvantaged by their caring responsibilities. Her fresh thinking has included the creation of Go Home On Time Day, the Happy to Talk Flexible Working recruitment initiative, and Sarah kick-started flexible change in Scotland when she co-founded the Family Friendly Working Scotland campaign. Sarah was appointed as a Visiting Professor at Cranfield University School of Management in 2019; awarded an OBE for services to quality of life issues in 2007, and have twice been recognised as a Top 30 HR Influencer by HR Magazine.
Elliott Rae, Founder, MusicFootballFatherhood
Elliott is the founder of MusicFootballFatherhood, the UK’s most exciting parenting and lifestyle platform for men. Elliott is also a powerful speaker and an experienced Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) leader with specific expertise in gender and race. As one of the leading voices in the UK for fatherhood and masculinity in the workplace, Elliott regularly works with organisations and staff networks to help support working fathers and parents, and work towards gender equality, through #EngagingDads workshops and talks. Elliott has held senior D&I leadership roles, most recently as Head of D&I delivery at HM Treasury. The United Nations recently recognised Elliott’s work and he is now the proud recipient of the UN Women UK’s #HeForShe ‘Changemaker of the Year’ award for his work on gender equality. Elliott has written for various mainstream publications and even had his work shared online by none other than Dwayne Johnson AKA ‘The Rock’! Elliott’s first book, entitled ‘DAD: untold stories of fatherhood, love, mental health and masculinity’ is a deeply moving and inspiring collection of 20 stories that represent the diversity of modern fatherhood and seeks to start a conversation that challenges the traditions associated with masculinity. DAD will be published on Tuesday 1st June.
