Bio:
Rachel is a senior leader, coach and mentor with a successful track record of combining a passion for people development with delivering innovative initiatives and tangible results in HR, corporate and financial services.
Nominated as HR Champion at 2019’s European Diversity Awards, Rachel is HR Senior Diversity & Inclusion Lead at the Metropolitan Police Service where she has delivered initiatives with impact. This includes the launch of the Women Returners Scheme, the first of its kind at the Met. She is also Programme Manager for the MPS Workplace Adjustments Redesign, which includes the introduction of disability adjustment and carer’s passport at the Met.
Previously, as Diversity Manager at Surrey Police, she designed and implemented a value-added diversity and inclusion strategy, delivering tangible outcomes including:
- 2018 – Winners at HR Excellence awards for D&I
- 2017 – Personnel Today Awards finalists for D&I
- 2016 – Highly commended at CIPD awards for best D&I initiative for increasing Black and Minority Ethnic (BAME) representation. Showcased as best practice case study in CIPD research Barriers to BAME career progression
- Achieving the Inclusive Top 50 UK employers list in 2016 and Stonewall Champions Index
She has performed a variety of senior management and consultancy roles including previously leading on learning and development and project manager of a major change programme. Rachel has also worked in corporate financial services, as both senior L&D and operations manager.
A chartered CIPD member, Rachel is an ILM7 advanced executive coach and mentor who specialises in mentoring underrepresented groups including maternity and career returnees as well as positive action schemes.
