I’ve been the Editor of 5 News for 4 years. During my career, I’ve worked for Sky News and ITV News as well as outputting ITV’s open-ended coverage of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s wedding and the 2010 General Election. Although my career has been focused on programme editing, I’ve also spent time on the road – with the Sky News’ team covering the Asian Tsunami in Thailand and its Bafta award winning team reporting from Soham.
I see diversity and inclusion as essential for the good health of the media industry. There’s nothing I enjoy more than helping new talent grow and develop. I was helped by some brilliant mentors and it’s good to give something back. I’m lucky to lead a brilliant team, committed to telling stories that impact everyone who lives in the UK. The team has delivered measurable improvements in our on-screen diversity – across a range of under-represented groups. We’ve also put a focus on finding a more diverse range of sources.
