Michaela is the Lead for the AMBITION Employee Resource Group at Siemens Plc, a network that gives individuals who have a disability or long-term health condition the confidence to be themselves at work, to normalise the topic, and create an adaptable, supportive work environment. This is alongside her role in Business Excellence, where her experience in driving cultural change and business transformation has enabled Siemens to achieve Disability Confident Employer status.
In Nov 2022 Michaela was awarded the CEO award for role in leading Disability Inclusion at Siemens. She has been recognised for building and inspiring a team and advocates around her, to accelerate the organisations progress towards an inclusive workplace for both current and future employees with disabilities and raising awareness of the benefits of inclusion not only to individuals, but to the Siemens Plc organisation and the wider society.
Michaela’s vision to is ensure Siemens continue to make the most of the talents that disabled persons can bring to the workplace, through a strategy based on raising employee knowledge of, and engagement with, best practice disability polices and processes at all levels of the organisation, aspiring to create an inclusive culture of support and belonging, where allyship is business as usual.
Michaela’s passionate advocacy for Disability Inclusion and allyship to persons with disabilities, are values that have been shaped from many years volunteering in the disability sector, and as a parent to two teenagers with neurodiversity. In her spare time Michaela is also an ILM level 5 freelance Coach and volunteer at Just Drop In, with a special interest in supporting persons with neurodiversity to unlock their potential and achieve great things.
